Dees Brothers Brewery

This is my go-to brewery in Central Florida. Only open since summer 2021, they have quickly carved out a nice corner of the local beer market in Sanford, which has four production breweries and one taproom. Dees Bros offers a variety of brews and foods to make this a one-stop place for an evening. Or lunch. Because it may be only half past noon, but it’s five o’clock somewhere. First things first. I went with my personal fave, the Thunder & Lightning IPA. It’s an easy drinking, foam-mustache-leaving brew (7% ABV; 74 IBU) that quickly leaves you with an empty glass in need of a refill. Yes. As a matter of fact, I *will* have one more. For dinner, we went with vegan options, including the pretzel with a spicy mustard, the Vegan Veggie Flatbread, and Vegan Sloppy Dog. But fear not, omnivores, because Dees Bros has tons of pub fare to satisfy all dietary preferences. That’s one of the things I like best about Dees Bros, because they take care of everyone. Movie nights and live music are on selected days of the week. Sidewalk dining is available for when the temps are conducive. Indoor seating ranges from a long U-shaped bar to high-tops and community-style picnic tables. If an unpretentious craft brewery is what you seek, by all means visit Dees Bros. I might even see you on this trip.

Sanford surprises us, in the craft brewery sense! Dees Brothers Brewery is a new one on the scene since we last visited. Very pleased, and will definitely be back. Got the brown ale and just the right sweetness and maltiness with a good foam head. Several varieties and will try these and some food on the next visit. Had a slight MBAT over the stylistic, but very tolerable and not off putting in any manner.

I like the atmosphere, the space is really nice, and the staff is very friendly. Unfortunately the Swedish Meatball Sandwich I had was extremely disappointing. It was just dry overcooked meatballs with almost no gravy or jam on bread with cheese. Dumping microwaved frozen Swedish meatballs from the grocery store on some bread would have resulted in a better sandwich.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. I started with a pint of Lake Monroe Water American Brown Ale. My wife started with a flight. The beers are top notch!! We came here after researching their beers on draft and their food menu. We were not disappointed at all! The beer was amazing and the food was phenomenal. We had the Swedish meatballs and the hummus to start. We finished with the flatbread, the Aloha Sunshine Special. Amazing. We would have been back for the beer without a doubt but the food is just as good. I then ordered a flight and my wife ordered the Bitter Belgian as a pint. My flight was the best set of four beers I’ve ever had together in a flight. We will be back and we will be bringing friends. I’m glad we don’t live closer or we would be here everyday spending all of our money! If you are in the area and not stopping here you are missing out. Stop in and have a flight and some appetizers! You won’t me disappointed. Cheers!
